My name is Apple; I am twenty years old, and am currently a college senior in the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines.
I love the color green, ice cream, baby animals, unordinary things and beautiful words. I am a hopeless romantic, a proud bookworm, an INFP, a struggling artist, and an aspiring writer. I have bouts of depression that I try very hard to fight, but I have a big voice when I love what I’m talking about and I have a really pretty smile when you catch me with my walls down.
I wish I could charm you enough to make you stay with me.
This is not my sanctuary exactly, because I know that people watch me here. Still, I am usually honest here. I write my feelings down, and sometimes people take it against me.
The name “Little Cartographer” is a jumbled-up metaphor for who I think I might be. A cartographer is one who makes maps. (I am making my way as I am finding my way.) My favorite people from Book Bench have dubbed me Mapple, or Maps. (I am making myself as I am finding myself.)
Hello, I am your little cartographer.
* * *
It needs to be mentioned that this is partly inspired by one of my favorite short stories “a primer for the dimensions of the universe” by one of my favorite local artists/bloggers, Carina Santos. The excerpt goes like this:
“You’re a cartographer?”
“As in… you make maps?”
“Do people use your maps to get to places?”
He looks at her incredulously. “Of course,” and within the span of a heartbeat, “how do you think I got to you?”
The layout of my sidebar and the image in my header are of my own experimental making. I am no designer, but I love learning. So please don’t hesitate to leave a lesson in my comments or my mail box. I only ask that you be gentle.
